Patients who use Auramedis ambulance transport services have the opportunity, in accordance with the regulations of the Republic Health Insurance Fund (RFZO), to obtain a refund (reimbursement) of transport costs, provided they meet the conditions prescribed by law.

The refund is not granted automatically, but exclusively based on submitted documentation and the RFZO's decision.

Who Is Entitled to a Transport Cost Refund?

The right to a refund of ambulance transport costs can be exercised by RFZO insured persons when:

  • The transport is medically justified
  • The transport is recommended or prescribed by a doctor
  • The transport is carried out for the purpose of treatment, check-up, diagnostics, or therapy
  • The distance and the patient's health condition are such that they cannot use regular transport

The final decision on the refund is made by the RFZO.

What Documentation Is Required?

To submit a claim to the RFZO, the patient usually needs to provide:

  • Original fiscal receipt or invoice for the ambulance transport performed
  • Medical documentation (referral, doctor's report, discharge summary)
  • Health insurance confirmation
  • Completed transport cost refund application form

The RFZO reserves the right to request additional documentation.
